At the outset we would like to focus the rural setting of the college established in 2001. The teacher Education College was established at Chelannur, Kozhikode District, and the College managed by Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam, after his Holiness Sree Narayana Guru, a saint social reformer and thinker who preached ‘liberation through education’ and ‘ strength through organization’. The present manager of the college is Sri Vellappally Natesan, the Secretary of SN Trusts. The management body consists of the Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and 17 Executive Members.
The vision of the college is to educate, liberate the marginalized section of the society. We aim at the welfare of all without any discrimination of caste, creed or religion
The campus extending to about 67 acres, is now an Educational Complex where an Arts and Science College, a Higher Secondary School, and a High School are functioning.

The college do have a very well equipped Library with National and International books , journals and educational CDs. The College is also equipped with Physical Science Lab. The College have a Psychology lab with so many psychological tests and equipments. And also have a good Technology Lab with all Audio Visual aids like Slide Projectors,Epidiascope, OHP, TV, CD Player, LCD Projector, Public Address Systems, Cameras etc.
The college promotes all the talents of the teacher educators in the field of Arts and Sports. The yearly tour conducted for every batch as a part of curriculum is incomparable. Highly qualified and experienced teaching staff and devoted non teaching staff makes this college the most preferred Teacher Education College in the State of Kerala. The management also made arrangement for Hostel Facility for the students in the most hygienic and safe condition in a comparatively lesser expense.
Practice Teaching:
As a part of curriculum of BEd course practical training is compulsory for all subjects. The institution has made tie-up with leading schools for this purpose.
